Save our Firefighters

Wichita is more than 67 square miles larger today than it was 30 years ago but surprisingly it is currently being served by fewer commissioned firefighters and only two more firehouses than in 1976. This is a frightening thought considering that the Wichita Fire Department responded to 33,206 more alarms in 2007 than it received 30 years prior.

The City of Wichita is currently preparing next year’s budget. That makes NOW the best time for your voice to be heard.

Please do not wait until you need help to realize that the Wichita Fire Department is under-staffed and under-funded. Let our city officials know that public safety is too important to cut costs.

After all, if you don’t save our firefighters, who will save you?
